Would you look at that?
Apparently, I can only post on Mondays lately. Or start thinking about posting on Mondays. Whatever.
Spring has sprung here in the DC area, and I can no longer breathe. Yay, allergies.
Friday night, Klumpen and I went to see Eddie Izzard at Constitution Hall. Excellent show. The jackass behind us really enjoyed himself, too. WOULD. NOT. SHUT. UP!! Other than that, a great show, and I’m glad we went.
And then, we spotted The Jen(n)s! On the street! Purely by luck. We’d been looking for them before the show started, but didn’t find them. But, as we were waiting in traffic to get back out of DC, there they were. So we got to say hi and all that fun stuff. Jenn is totally rocking the Bettie Page look these days.
Saturday was spent sleeping. Pretty much the whole day. I did get up for a bit, and knit on the Seascape Shawl for a short time. I’m up to row 70, out of who knows how many. I had to rip back several rows, though, to correct an error. That always pisses me off. I keep forgetting to run a safety line. But, the good thing was there were 3 rows of all knit not too far back, so I was easy enough to rip back to that and redo those rows.
Oh, I also installed the zipper on Klumpen’s prom dress. Why does she leave me the difficult bits to do? Tempermental designer. (Seriously, though, the dress is gorgeous, and she’s going to look absolutely stunning in it.)
Yesterday was spent at the mall. First getting our hair cut (Klumpen, TSM and I were all in need of a trim), and then in search of the “Perfect Shoes” to go with said dress. We walked the entire length of the mall, and ended up buying the shoes she’d considered about a week ago.
But I found a cute pair of little MaryJane type slingbacks. Now to actually wear skirts/dresses to the office again.
And then, much to our dismay, we found that the G Street Fabrics had closed! We’d been in there about a week ago, and there was no notice that they were closing the store, etc. And yesterday it was just empty. Apparently, they’re going to put in a Neiman Marcus. Oh, yay? Who the hell can afford to shop at Neiman Marcus these days? Not me. So, that leaves us with only JoAnn’s here locally, or the G Street that’s sort of/kind of near my office. Bah.
Darn good thing I have that collection of fabric shopping links.
I’ve banned some people from the blog. They’ve never cared enough to be involved in my life, so having them read here was rather creepy and stalkerish. So, they can read no more. My site, my rules. The less time/energy/thought wasted on them the better, though.
My favorite shoes are the Mary Janes that have the pillow insoles.
But I only have a couple of pairs of pants that I can wear those with.
I will definitely take pictures of the couple.
Those are cute shoes, Sis. I’m fortunate enough to be able to wear scrubs and sneakers to work now – comfy dress.
Be sure to send pictures of the prom couple.
I’m wearing the shoes today, actually. I’ve remembered that I hate the flip-flop noise that slingbacks make, though.
Lynne’s Boy was going to match her, until she told him what color she was wearing. It’s a steel/powdery blue. Kind of like the comment display, there.
Lucky you seeing Eddie
Love the shoes. No way I could wear them.
Brian’s prom is at the end of the month. He wants to wear a red suit.
Not sure what color she will wear.
