To recap…
Recapping all my lost posts…
The cruise was amazing. We had a fantastic time. I have over 2000 pictures and 100 movies to go through and select the best ones for posting. I think I saw 12 shows over the course of the cruise. 3 BNL, 1 Harvey Danger, 3 GBS, 2 Gaelic Storm, 2 Carbon Leaf and the Thursday night jam session. That sounds about right. Swimming with the stingrays was cool, even if they are food mooches and would abandon you as soon as the next group with food was spotted. Horseback riding, while fun, was quite painful and I had bruises were I should never have bruises.
Immediately after returning from the cruise, real life smacked me upside the head and I was hospitalized for nearly a week. During that time, my boss died. I got out of the hospital in time to go to her memorial service. She was only 53. And the night before her memorial, her father died as well. Which was something of a blessing in disguise, as she was one of his primary caregivers.
Grief, hospitalization and stress are excellent weight loss methods. I’m down 2 pant sizes, at least. And I’m not allowed to get small enough to fit in Klumpen’s pants.
I’ve been smacking real life back, gone off all the medications I was on, and have gone through one round of doctor’s appointments with another to follow. I will no longer joke about medication side effects, and my susceptibility to them.
I love reading my visitor statistics. It amazes me how frequently some people read, yet never comment on any of my posts. I could understand not commenting if you’re one of the people I talk with frequently in person or by phone, but for those people I don’t talk to very often, it’s a little weird.
There’s very little privacy on the Internet. I use aliases for the family, but if you know me well enough, you know exactly who I’m talking about. And that lack of privacy works both ways. It’s pretty interesting how much you can find out from a visitor’s ip address.
While life is not perfect, it’s better than it was, and I know what direction it needs to go in.
So, I think that sums up all the posts I lost due to my own stupidity. If not, let’s just pretend it was something amazingly profound and go from there.
Or what browser they use, etc. It really is amazing what you can learn from your visitor stats. I love looking at the patterns. Like how often someone visits, or what time they normally visit. You know, Person A visits every third day at 5:00 EST, that sort of thing.
I’m also shocked at some of the extra things that logging software will tell you, like what OS and what connection they’re using. I called and laughed at someone not too long ago for using Win95 over a 28k. In college I used an IP Router, which let me just insert random numbers for my IP. When I found out that Nigeria has the 529 scam, and the FBI doesn’t take too kindly to that, I stopped.
