Next time I decide to work with polyester satin, someone needs to smack me. While the dress for Shadow is turning out wonderfully, I’ve reaffirmed my loathing of poly satin. It’s a slippery, slidy beast to work with. It frays like no-body’s business, too. In the future, I’ll try to steer clients to at least crepe backed satin.
Bitching aside, the dress is fantastic. It turned out better than I’d hoped. I can’t wait to see pictures of Shadow with her accessories.
I’m still not sleeping. I don’t think the new medication is working all that well. And since I’m not having any of the weird side effects, I’m reluctant to increase the dosage.
Our vacation starts in less than a week, and I’m getting giddy! We’ve got the “house sitter” lined up, Cookie’s boarding arrangements, a ride to the airport, hotel in Miami before and after the trip, and our “shore excursions”. For our stop in Grand Cayman, we’re going snorkeling with the stingrays (no Crocodile Hunter jokes, please), and for our stop in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, we’re going horseback riding.
If I have to promote one more person at work, I think I may just go postal…
