You’d Think…
With a sewing room as big as mine, that I wouldn’t still have to use the dining room table to cut out fabric. But, you’d be wrong.
I spent yesterday working on Shadow’s dress, and needed the table to cut out things again. Part of the problem is that we haven’t cleaned the sewing room in forever. Another part of it is that the dress I’m making has to be cut on a single width of the fabric. Most patterns can be cut with the fabric folded in half lengthwise, but this one is so wide that you need to lay the fabric flat.
I’ve got the skirts to attach, and then it will be ready for the final fitting. The fabrics she picked out give a really rich, almost royal look to the dress. I’ll take a couple pictures today, and hopefully she’ll give me some of the dress “in action” with all of her accessories and makeup.
In life stuff, we’re counting down the days until the cruise. We’re all very excited, and can’t wait to get on the ship. We fly out in less than a week. We’ve got Cookie’s boarding arrangements all settled, a friend is coming over to check on the cats daily and grab the mail for us. Our hotel is booked for before and after. I think other than packing, we’re as ready as we can get.
So, it’s back to the sewing room for me today.
