Happy New Year
So, another year down, and a new one started. How to explain? Wait, there is too much, let me sum up.
January 2007 - The highlight was the original Ships & Dip cruise. 4 days of sun and music with amazing musicians, and the most important people of all - my family.
February - You know, I don’t really recall much about this month. Work was fairly busy, according to my office calendar, but nothing really stands out.
March - Again, nothing big, other than work being crazy. Mewp (the cat) turned 14.
April - Not a thing to mention here.
May - Klumpen’s 17th birthday. Those are coming much too quickly for my sanity, but we’ve discussed that already.
June - A trip to VARF (Virginia Renaissance Faire) and an impromptu party at the Stupid Big House afterwards. There may or may not have been a game of strip poker, but no teenagers were permanently traumatized.
July - My 39th birthday. Not a huge deal, but not a number I was looking forward to reaching.
August - Our 19th Anniversary. (And I’m looking forward to more.) The beginning of the MDRF (Maryland Renaissance Festival), with TOH and Klumpen working for Half Moon, and TSM working for a brief time at the Jack of Spades. Some crazy last minute commission sewing, and didn’t he look fine? Oh, and who could forget the pre-faire party?
September - TSM’s 11th birthday. Again, a number I wasn’t looking forward to. My babies are growing up much too quickly. More faire weekends, with good friends and good times.
October - The end of Faire season. With all its attendant traumas, dramas and issues. I’m glad to have such good friends.
November - Some rest before the holidays kicked in, and then on to Thanksgiving, with friends visiting and the beginning of the overeating season.
December - What a month. TOH’s abandonded birthday party, but what turned out to be (according to him) one of his best birthdays ever. Christmas, with too many presents for the kids. And then New Year’s Eve. I could write several pages on that subject. But let’s just leave it at: “You had to be there.”
So, that’s 2007 in a nutshell. I am endlessly grateful for my unbelieveably fantastic husband. I am unaccountably lucky in my friendships. And my children continue to amaze me.
Here’s hoping that 2008 will only be better.
