Have I started to mold yet?
It has been raining steadily since last Friday, and everything is saturated. Ick. The humidity is turning my hair into something resembling the “Wild Women of Borneo”. Kitchen lights are not supposed to drip water.
The rain has been so bad that there were fish on the I-95 Beltway.
The good news is that while I stayed home yesterday because of the mess on the roads, Klumpen and I did a total inventory of the fabric stash. We created a database with all fabric listed by content, color, width, yardage, etc, and a tag #. We then tagged each piece of fabric to match the database. I have over 713 yards of fabric. The vast majority of it is natural fabrics, specifically cotton and linen, with rayon or rayon/poly velvet coming in a close second.
We actually managed to put more fabric into the closet than we took out of it. I took pictures, but I need to download them from the camera. I think TOH was quite surprised at how much there was. After Faire season (less than 2 months away now!) I think I’ll do the same for my yarn stash.
Now that I know where everything is, I’m hoping it will inspire me to get moving on everyone’s garb. I’d actually wanted to have my own pirate coat finished by next weekend, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I still haven’t decided on the embroidery scheme. I also thought I had some navy cotton velvet to use as the gores, but I was mistaken. And the more I look at my chosen fabric for my Venetian gown, the less sure I become that it’s appropriate.
So, that’s that. My mother is now living under a pizza parlor, which doesn’t open up until July 5th, and she’s complaining that it’s noisy. Geee, ya think?
