A Love Letter

My Husband rocks. Oh so very much. I don’t know what I’d do without him.

Why does my husband rock? Let me count the ways:

  • He loves me unconditionally.
  • He’s a fantastic father to our children.
  • He makes me smile when I need it.
  • He still gives me butterflies.
  • He’ll be ready with either vodka or amaretto tonight, depending on the outcome of my day.
  • He lets me take a nap whenever I need one.
  • He gets my jokes.
  • He bought me a kickass new laptop yesterday. Not that I needed a new one, but I now have it, and he’s going to get my old one repaired, and keep it for himself.
  • He spoils me rotten.

So, for a (day late) birthday present, he gets a list of why I love him. And if I seem fixated on the new laptop, that’s only because I like shiny new toys.

In other news, I still have no idea what my status is here at MSGA. I was out yesterday, crappy weather, kids dismissed early from school, etc, and my boss hasn’t shown up yet today. Which, obviously, leads to me thinking the worst. Because, as “The Bobs” said in Office Space:

Peter Gibbons: You’re gonna lay off Samir and Michael?
Bob Slydell: Oh yeah, we’re bring in some entry-level graduates, farm some work out to Singapore, that’s the usual deal.
Bob Porter: Standard operating procedure.
Peter Gibbons: Do they know this yet?
Bob Slydell: No. No, of course not. We find it’s always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there’s less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

And it is Friday, after all, and my boss will be on vacation all next week.
