Tuesday Tedium
Yeah, I know, the alliteration is getting a little old to me, too. But, I started it, so I might as well finish it. Plus it helps me remember what day of the week it is. Cause right now? Not an easy feat for me. I just keep wishing the week was further along. (Should that be further or farther? I’m too lazy to look it up.)
Still no knitting. I took my exchange gift to work with me today, with the intention of fixing my mistake at lunch time. But, I got distracted. What else is new?
Cyndilou had some suggestions on what do with my computer monitor at work. I tried, but I just can’t get it right. So, I’m seriously leaning towards making that eye appointment sooner, rather than later.
Today on my way home from work, I passed my son’s school, where I noticed they’d changed the banner that hangs out front. It used to say, “Blah Blah Elementary School; Learning Is Not An Option”. Now, if you’re like me, that tends to send the wrong message. As in, “Failure is not an option”. Well, today the sign was replaced with one that says, “Blah Blah Elementary School; Learning Is Not An Option…It Is A Requirement.” Looks like I wasn’t the only one getting the wrong idea.
My Vogue Knitting came in today’s mail. I read Queer Joe’s assesment earlier this afternoon, so I was interested to see it for myself. I like the cover sweater, which isn’t really surprising, because I tend to like Adrienne Vittadini patterns. But, the straps don’t give enough shoulder coverage for my taste. I like the look of the “Shell Seeking” jacket, but it looks tedious to knit. Perhaps another time (should that be another lifetime?).
I hated the crocheted bikini, crocheted halter top, and the funky bustier. Again, I have to ask, what are these people smoking? Maybe they need to share, and the rest of us might like the patterns, too.
The one garment that is definitely going on to my “Want-to-Knit” list is the empire-waist cardigan by Deborah Newton. It looks comfortable, yet dressy enough to wear to the office. And I love that hip length. So… I’d better get knitting on the things I’ve already got on the needles, so that I can actually make this one, rather than talking about it.
The weather for the rest of this week is going to suck. I hate rain. It makes me ache, and depresses the heck out of me. But, not much I can do. I’ve got meetings tomorrow and Thursday, but maybe I can take off Friday and sleep in.
Now, it’s off to bed, after some pain killers to fight the wet weather aches and pains that have already started.
