Dost thou not suspect my place? dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass! But, masters, remember that I am an ass; though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass. . . . . O that I had been writ down an ass!

Sunday Stories

So, um, if you haven’t gone ice skating in 20 years, and before that you’d only gone once, is it really a good idea to go again?  Well, yeah, actually it was.  TOH, TSM and I went skating this afternoon, and I had a great time.  I managed to only fall down twice.  But that second fall?  Painful.  I managed to bruise the meaty part of the palm of my hand.  And I smacked my knee on the wall once, coming to a rather abrupt stop.  I’m going to be feeling this all tomorrow, that’s for sure, but it was a great workout, and I’ll gladly do it again.

This morning was spent frogging the projects I’ve decided to abandon.  I don’t know if abandon is the right word or not.  I plan to get back to them eventually.  Just not right now, and not in the immediate future.

This is a picture of the projects before I frogged them and rewound them.  (Click on pix to enlarge.)

Here are two pix from after.  Toulouse likes the suri alpaca.

I also did some rearranging of my stash.  In the pic below, most of it is yarn, but three boxes over on the left are fabric.  And there’s also a box of yarn in my closet, and more fabric on the sewing table.  I think I need to knit faster.

I got the latest Knit’nStyle in the mail the other day.  If the issues continue to feature the same sort of stuff, I think I’m going to let my subscription run out.  I liked it when I first started knitting, because the patterns weren’t too difficult, but now they’re getting just plain FUGLY.  Starting with the ugly cover sweater and hat, and continuing through the “Artful Off Shoulder Elegance” and “Hunter” and “Levant Top” and the rest of the issue, I just don’t know who is knitting this crap.  I did like the “Mikado Ribbon Camisole Top” and the “Lace Charm Socks”, and I sort of liked the “Cashmere Surplice” as well.  But the ugly far outweigh the yes and the maybe.

So, that’s the story here.  I’m off to take some painkillers and knit for a bit before bed.
