Holy Mackerel!
I spent much of yesterday doubting my own sanity. I mean, how sane would you feel if you saw a huge fish on the side of a very busy interstate highway, with no water in sight?
So, I did the only thing I could do. I grabbed my camera and made sure to ride the left lane all the way to work. And sure enough, there it was. The fish. (I managed to take this crappy picture while driving at about 10 miles an hour, but be warned that it’s huge and slow loading.)
And I’m still baffled by how it got there.
In other oddities noticed at the side of the road, I also saw three or so baseball bats and a cleat-ed shoe nearer to the I-495 ramp this morning. I couldn’t get a good count on the bats, because some of them were wooden, and had shattered, as if someone had lost the contents of a gym bag on the side of the road.
It’s amazing what I’ll find to look at while driving to work. Anything to pass the time on my way through the mixing bowl.
Today’s mail brought me two books I’d ordered. Knitting Around and Stitch ‘n Bitch. I’ve glanced through both of them, and see several things I’d like to try my hand at. Of course, Klumpen was more interested n Stitch ‘n Bitch, and loved the wrist warmers and monkey back pack. She also got a kick out of the bikini.
I’ve been eyeing my In Progress list, and I think that I’m going to completely frog a few things. I’m just not working on them at all, and have no interest in them, either. So, I’m deleting the Spanish Christening Shawl, Lucy Lu, Wings Wrap and Klumpen’s Gigi Scarf from the list. I’ll rewind all the yarn, and let it marinate in stash for a while, and see if that inspires me to finish all the other things on the list before I start something new again.
