They Call Me Mum

  • Dost thou not suspect my place? dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass! But, masters, remember that I am an ass; though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass. . . . . O that I had been writ down an ass!

Sleepy, soggy Sunday

I’m sleepy and the couch is soggy.  I spent part of the afternoon steam cleaning the love seat.  Not a fun task, but one that needed to be done.

I got a couple more rows of knitting done on my exchange gift, so that’s a plus.  I can’t decide whether to take it or my Lace Scarf with me tomorrow to work on during Klumpen’s CAT scan.

Her headaches are better, but her dizziness is still there.  And, the mood swings are back.  Not a pleasant thing, those.

At the bookstore yesterday, I picked up the current copy of Knit It.  I liked the Cabled Hat, Mittens & Scarf Set; the Fringed Coat – minus the fringe; and the sock tutorial.  Most everything else I could have done without.  But, since I have a serious knitting magazine addiction, I can’t pass up any of them.

In Saturday’s mail, I received the Spring 2004 Knitter’s magazine.  Although the issue has been thoroughly bashed on KnitFlame, I found that I liked the top for Dress White; Evening Breeze; Chambray Diamonds; Dice Blue; and Anchors Aweigh.  Of all of them, I think I’d knit Dice Blue before anything else.  I hated, and I do mean hated, Metal Influence.  It was stupid.    Knit a plain tank top, then put in metal eyelets.  Why?  It’s right up there with the swiss cheese holes one from a while back.

In political news, I think the fact that Ralph Nader running for President again is a dumb idea.  Especially with Fox News running a report showing Bush’s support at 43%, Kerry’s at 42% and Nader’s at 4%.  Oh, and AH-nold?  I’m sorry, but letting foregin nationals run for President?  Not a good idea either.  You are more than welcome to move here and join the American dream, and your children who are born here are more than welcome to become president, but for someone to come here, live here for a short time and then try to become President?  Ridiculous.Anyway, I’m probably ranting and rambling and not making much sense at this point.  I need to get to bed, since I’ve got to drag the kids out of bed early to get Klumpen to her appointment by 8 tomorrow morning.
