They Call Me Mum

  • Dost thou not suspect my place? dost thou not suspect my years? O that he were here to write me down an ass! But, masters, remember that I am an ass; though it be not written down, yet forget not that I am an ass. . . . . O that I had been writ down an ass!

Here we go yet again…

I’ve tried to post at least four times today.  But something isn’t working for me.  I’m not sure if it’s something with my work pc or something with the coding of the blog itself.  Either way, it’s been extremely frustrating.

So, here I am, trying again.  I finally made it to work this morning, even though the roads were slick and unplowed.  My neighborhood was a mess, and the roads around my office were bad, but the main roads weren’t bad.

Last night I finished the shawl I’ve been working on.  I used the Lorna’s Laces pattern “Free and Easy Pie Wedge Shawl” that comes on a skein of “Heaven” or “Helen’s Lace”.  I used some Jaggerspun Superfine Merino Wool 2/18 in either color #60 or #61 from the Halcyon Yarn website.

I’m thinking of adding an icord border to it before I block it.  I think it will give it a more finished look.  And I guess it’s not a finished project until I actually block it.

Today as my travel knitting, I took the Lace Scarf, Eugen Beugler’s pattern “In Love with Lace, Simply Sensational Scarf”.  I’m using Knit One Crochet Too Richesse Et Soie in Plum.  It’s a great travel project because the pattern repeat is easy to memorize.  And, the yarn is such a dream to work with.  I love how it feels, and how people react when they see what I’m working on.
