Where’s that Clint Eastwood movie sound clip when I need it?
It’s finally Friday, and thanks to my good government job, I have a three day weekend. That’s the good.
The bad is that the kids also have off on Monday, so I don’t get the day to myself.
And finally, the ugly is that TOH and Klumpen are both sick. And I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before TSM and I catch it as well. And if history repeats itself, which it normally does, I’ll have it the worst and the longest.
No actual knitting got done yesterday. I spent part of my evening playing around with html editors, and looking for blogging software that doesn’t require CGI. I have an old, outdated website, that I want to revamp, and put my blog there. I’ve been paying for it for years, but haven’t touched it much lately.
I’ve been thinking of consolidating all the information about me into one spot, rather than have it spread out all over the web. Currently, I have the old web page, a picture album, a blog, and a knitting forum. All in different places; all hosted by different companies. Seems a waste to me.
But, as friends of mine will vouch, I’ve said all of this before. So until it actually happens, I won’t post any addresses.
In surfing around today, I found some interesting tools at The Two Swans Yarns. The first one is a gauge to see “How Done Am I?“. The second one is to gauge how long a project will take. And finally, my favorite, is a calculator to figure out how much stash I need to acquire before I retire so that I will have enough to keep me happily knitting for life. Just what every knitter needs, a {snicker} logical reason to buy more yarn.
According to the calculator, I need to purchase enough yarn for 30 to 35 projects a year to keep me knitting after my retirement. Provided I live until at least 75. If I don’t live that long, just think of the stash L will inherit.
Anyway, since this is a three day weekend, I will have plenty of knitting time to finish the unnamed project and get back to work on some other things.
