It’s Friday, and the bass from the office party feels like a sledgehammer on my brain.

I’m back, and I feel like I have an IQ of more than three today, thank you very much.

Wednesday night and all day yesterday were the latest round of sleep study.  Luckily, the snow and wet weather stopped by the time I had to get on the road, so it wasn’t as horrendous a drive as I thought it would be.  The wind, however, was ridiculous.

But, I got there ok, and on time.  Roger, my sleep technician, wasted no time getting me wired up.  Which hurts like hell.  They abrade the skin, so that the conductors get good contact, and it felt like he was rubbing at my skin with heavy duty sandpaper.

Once all the torture implements were in place, I had a couple hours to relax before it was time to go to sleep.  So, I sat and knit on my Pacific Northwest Shawl for Mom’s friend.  I have three rows left before the border now, and am really glad to be almost done.  I think I can finish it by tomorrow and then TOH will FedEx it for me on Monday.

Back to the sleep study.  It’s amazing that you can sleep at all with all the wires and sensors and crap they stick to you, but I did.  I know I woke up a couple of times through the night, because I’d set the heat too high, so I had to kick off blankets and socks, but I didn’t feel like I’d tossed and turned more than usual.

When Roger (Damn him!) woke me up at 5:30 yesterday morning, he said something about “seeing why I’m so tired”, but I was still asleep, and couldn’t follow the conversation.  I do remember him saying that my current medication is helping with the twitching, but that’s about all my foggy brain can come up with.  Anyway, he’d woken me to remove about 1/2 the sensors, since they are not required for the “nap test”.

The rest of yesterday was spent doing the “MSLT” or nap test.  Between naps, I watched satellite TV and worked on the shawl, as well as “Nicole”, the lace camisole by Joan M-M.

By the time they let me go home at 3:00 or so, I felt borderline retarded.  In hindsight, I’m wondering if I should have been driving at all.  But, I did, and I survived, and so did everyone around me.  Now I just have to wait until the 29th for the results.

Today, after my vat of tea, and a glass of Mt. Dew at the office holiday party, I’m feeling much better, and more alert.  Now to just count down the time until I can escape for the weekend.
