Another visit to the frog pond.

The SSCEP is coming along nicely. I had about three inches or so done last night while waiting for Klumpen at her appointment, but when I got home, I decided that I hated it. So I ripped it all out and started fresh.

I think part of the problem was that the pattern was poorly written. The repeats in the first section didn’t add up, and I had to fudge around it to get the stitch counts to come out right. So, it just wasn’t working, and I wasn’t pleased at all with the results. Maybe I was reading the pattern wrong, but it just wasn’t coming out as nicely as the pictured model.

I scoured through several magazines and books before I finally settled on a new pattern. I’ve already gotten 12 rows finished since 9:00 last night. I’m feeling much, much better about this new pattern. Again, I’ve modified the actual pattern to suit my needs, but nothing drastic. Basically, changing needle size, which will change the finished item size. No stitch counts to fiddle with, etc.

Klumpen is mad at me for working on the SSCEP, rather than caving into her wishes, and cutting out fabric for her coat or her cloak. We’ll probably do the coat first, and I’ve got the pattern pieces cut and ready, I just didn’t feel like cutting fabric last night. That’s more of a weekend project for me.

Tonight will be more knitting time, and an early bedtime. I’m exhausted.

Well, Duh! I mean really, this is news? The area can’t handle a rainstorm, or a crazed farmer on a tractor; who the hell really thought it would be able to handle a rapid evacuation?
