Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

So, I lied yesterday. I didn’t work on the Opal sock when I got home. I was too tired for words, since I skipped my afternoon nap, and fell asleep before 8:30.

I’ve been having headaches and I had the dizziness last week, so I have a list of things to talk to my neurologist about when I see him next week. Blech.

However, I did manage to decide on a pattern for my Super Secret Christmas Exchange Project (SSCEP) and cast on for that. It’s a lovely pattern, with an easily memorized repeat. I’ve alrady got half a dozen rows finished, I’ve only been working on it for about 15 minutes total. I can’t go into too much detail because I think the recipient reads here. But I’m using some lovely hand-dyed yarn from Red Barn Farm that I got from eBay. I won’t give up the color, either, since that would probably be a giveaway on the recipient as well. But, I am enjoying the pattern, and think it will make a lovely gift.

Tonight, I’m taking Klumpen to one of the local high schools for a program on all the specialty programs that the county offers. She had an idea of which ones she’d like to apply for, but wants to learn more about them all before she decides. She has to apply to the majority of them before February, so she doesn’t have a huge chunk of time to debate it all out. She’s already started listing pros and cons, though, so I think she’ll be fine.

My hometown was small (only 800 kids in the entire high school), so we didn’t have these sorts of options. You either took standard classes, advanced classes, or vocational classes. There were no “specialty” programs. I’m glad I’m not a teenager now. Too many decisions. And much too much stress.

So, that’s the story for Tuesday. And look, I didn’t even mention my hellish 2 hour commute yesterday. The one where I drove an average of 7 miles an hour, to get the 15 miles from my house to my office. That made me want to murder everyone around me. That tempted me to turn around and just go home. But, I didn’t even whine about that yesterday, now did I?
