More sewing goodness.
Just waking up from my lunchtime nap. My neurologist has me taking codeine nightly, which seems to be helping my sleep, but I need to get to bed earlier. Which I can’t do until I finish the Cardinal’s outfit.
I finished the cassock last night, sans hems, and TOH loves it. I also did the majority of the work on the sash, and just need to fringe it. That’ll be tonight’s job. And maybe start on the cape as well. I’m nearly done, which is a damn good thing, since he wants to wear this either Saturday or Sunday.
We’ve also been invited to a friend’s Halloween party on the 25th, so we think we’ll be dressing for that as well. I’m glad these costumes are getting used.
I’m anxiously awaiting some yarn from Germany. It’s “Opal Herbststimmung/Pullovergarn Seide”, which according to Babel Fish, translates to “Opal autumn tendency/sweater yarn silk”. Knitting friends who have used it describe it as “buttered silk”. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
My friend who lost her job yesterday gets paid through the end of the month, plus unused vacation time. I wouldn’t be feeling so chipper about that, but she’s pretty upbeat. Compared to my other friend who was laid off this spring, and has 10 months worth of living expenses saved. In her shoes, I’d feel less panicked.
Ah well, back to my job. The one that keeps me in money for yarn and computer stuff.
