Friday and I’m free
The Cardinal’s ensemble is coming along nicely. I have the sleeve hems and the gold trim for the cape left to do. And then make a “messenger” type bag for him to carry all his stuff in, since he won’t have access to his pockets.
I’ve really enjoyed sewing all of this, but I’ll be glad to give the machien a break, and get back to my knitting needles again. All of my projects are languishing, and my back can use the rest from hunching over the machine.
Chevy has been managing pretty well with her cast the last day or so. She’s been climbing in and out of the easy chair and even made her way up the stairs and into my bed with her cast. I’m very relieved to see her mobile. She does this weird “windmilly” thing with that leg when she first gets up to watch, and I can’t decide whether to laugh or feel sorry for her.
She’s our oldest cat, and has been with us longer than we’ve been married. She was our “baby” before we had babies. And, like babies, when she’s hurt or sick, she can’t talk to me and tell me what the problem is. Having pets is like having kids. A lot of love and a lot of responsibility. Of course, you don’t have to worry about your pets wrecking your car when they turn 16.
This is the final weekend of the Renaissance Festival and Klumpen would love to go both days, but that’s a little too much for me. She also wants to bring two friends, not just one, so we may have to drive up in separate cars.
Either way, I’m sure I’m going to have a great weekend, and hopefully you’ll all do the same. I’m outta here!
