I’m surrounded by morons.
You know, you just can’t teach some people. I mean, really.
Today is October 1, 2003. For the government, that means we are now in Fiscal Year 2004. I told all my people that I would only accept purchases made by last Friday. I made a few exceptions Monday and yesterday. And then, this morning, I got a purchase request that someone had made with their credit card. This morning. Twice! Um, hello… I said no more spending; we have no more money, and the fiscal year is over; and we won’t have money for this year until probably the end of the month.
Luckily, my boss is of the same mind, and he had the person return the item. So I don’t have to jump through any hoops, trying to figure out how to take care of it.
The ladies of the office are all going out to lunch today to celebrate the fiscal new year. We’re headed over to the TGIFriday’s at the mall, specifically for their frozen drinks. Food is actually secondary.
Last night I worked on pulling out the messed up stitching on Klumpen’s fairy dress. Tonight, I’m finishing it. One way or another. I’m tired of looking at it on my sewing table.
I’m also going to try to start cutting out the fabric for my skirt. I have the pattern pieces all cut already. It’ll be a really simple sewing job, except for the circular hem at the bottom. That’s always my least favorite part of any sewing job. The hemming. And circular hems are the worst. I can never get them nice and neat. Blech.
I also started on one of my Christmas exchange gifts. I want to make sure I have it done early, because the mail has been extremely slow lately and I want it to get there in time. I hope to mail it out before Thanksgiving, so I’m getting an early start.
