September really sucks when you’re a budget analyst for the government.
I am taking a break from financial system hell. I have over 150 pages of report to slog through to find the information I need, and that’s after filtering the report from its original size.
I spent more time knitting on the “Tiger Eye” socks for L last night. They’re coming along nicely, and she seems tickled with them. I think I need to do one more pattern repeat before I start the heel and gussett.
After re-reading my entry from yesterday, I realized that I have no mindless projects going. So I cast on another sock for me. I’m doing this one as a “toe-up” in Opal on US size 1.5 needles. I started it using the cast on from the “Tiger Eye” socks, and plan to increase until I get 64 stitches (my usual) and then work plain. I haven’t decided which heel I’m going to use, though.
It’s going to be either the heel from Wendy Johnson’s toe-up sock pattern or the one from the Jelly Bean Toe Up Socks by Kim Salazar.
But I have to get that far first.
I’m also still on the search for the perfect yarn for a gift for a friend that I need to start and finish by mid-November. I just got some yarn in from two separate eBay auctions. Now to decide which one to use, and which pattern.
Anyway…sanity break over, time to get back to the paperwork mountain.
