I’m just a glutton for punishment
Well, even though I promised myself I wouldn’t start something new until I got more stuff off my unfinished list…. I started a new pair of socks last night.
These are for Klumpen. They are the “Tiger Eye” socks from SocksX3. These are my first toe-up socks, and I was surprised at how easy it was to get them started. I’m having to adjust the sizing, though, because there’s no way 51 stitches in sock weight yarn on size 2 needles is going to fit on my daughter’s foot. These people must have been smoking crack when they called it a “women’s size medium”. So, I’ve added extra plain stockinette stitches, as recommended, and have been doing the calculations to change all the other numbers as a result.
So far, so good. But let’s hold off judgement until I finish the heel and gusset.
I am ever so thankful that TOH is coming home tonight. The traffic in the mornings has been horrendous, and dropping off TSM has added 40 minutes or more to my commute. Not to mention the whole cooking thing.
Tomorrow is TSM’s birthday. My baby is turning 7. I’m not ready. And if any moronic terrorists get the smart idea to ruin this one, I’m going to take it personally.
