Actual Knitting at Lunch Content!
Yay me! I was working on the Spanish Christening Shawl today at lunch (and yes, I nearly wrote Spankish), and I found an error right in the middle of a bunch of yarn overs. And I managed to fix it! I’m so tickled when I can do that.
I also fixed the stitches at the beginning of each row, where I had forgotten to slip them. I laddered down that stitch to the cast on row, and then hooked them back up with a crochet hook, skipping every other row, like I was supposed to do in the first place, and easing the looseness back into the surrounding stitches. Now I have a nice even slipped stitch edge to use when picking up stitches for the border.
I currently have two (out of 28) of the twelve-row repeats finished on this shawl. It’s slow going, because I have to purl back on every other row, and my purl stitch is much slower than my knit stitch. But, I am enjoying working on it, because the yarn I’m using feels delightful. I’m using Henry’s Attic Monty 3/9’s. It’s soft and blooms ever-so-slightly as you work with it. I’ve been told that it washes up to be even softer.
Yesterday I took better pictures of the baby cardigan I made for my friend’s son. Here is a shot of it hanging outside, and thisis a little better closeup. If the Dad ever gets back from his meetings, I plan to give it to him today. (EDIT: Pictures to be added eventually.)
I also posted pictures of TSM’s Mr. Bear in his new red sweater, and the latest socks for me in Trekking XXL Color 81.
Last night, the kids and I ate out at Carrabbas. It was nice, but very similar to the Macaroni Grill. That’s one less night of cooking that I have to worry about.
