Time to run away from home for a weekend.
Well, WOW! Thanks to everyone from the Lace Knitters list, and everyone else who stopped by to look at my shawl yesterday. I got so many nice compliments. It’s great to have your ego stroked by other knitters. They understand very clearly the work that goes into each piece.
I’m wearing my shawl at the office today, and one of the main comments I get is “How can something so full of ‘holes’ keep you warm?” But it does.
Last night didn’t see a lot of knitting. I was busy doing mountains of laundry and packing for our trip to the beach. I did work on the ChicKnits Bucket-O-Chic hat for Klumpen. I have about 1/3 of the band finished.
Today is a day of tidying up things at the office, so I can take the time off with a clear conscience.
Klumpen’s new boots arrived yesterday. The “Frankenboots” as we call them. She loves them. Very punk with thick soles and lots of buckles.
So, that’s pretty much it for today. I found out that Picture Trail is moving servers this weekend, so all of my picture URLs will need to be updated. What a pain.
I finally got my car back last night, so I’m a happy camper again. The problem had been the morons at Jiffy Lube had left something unattached the last time they changed the oil and filters, so it wasn’t up to the daily grind of my commute. It felt much better this morning, and it was a relief to have my CD player back.
