Stop her before she spends again!
It’s a beautiful summer day here in the DC area, and I’m stuck inside an office, freezing to death. I’ve actually got my contraband space heater running, and I’m still cold.
So, I’m looking forward to my lunch hour. We have a picnic table in the parking lot, and I think I may take my knitting outside and sit there for an hour.
Of course, last night I worked on the KKS. I have two more rows to go. Each row has approximately 690 stitches, so it takes me a bit of time. All that’s left after that, is sewing the hem down, and washing and blocking the shawl. I’ll be glad to finish it, so I can start something else up.
Yesterday was another good yarn mail day. I received this yarn, which I won in an eBay auction. I actually won 5 hanks, but I’d already wound two into balls before I took the picture. I wound all five hanks into a big ball, using the Russian Join to join them as I wound, so that I’d end up with one continuous length of yarn. I believe I have enough yarn for a simple shell.
I seem to have been on a yarn-buying binge lately. I bought the yarn from my de-stashing friend, the yarn from eBay, and I’m expecting a packing from Jackie at HeartStrings FiberArts. I have some deep wine red lace-weight wool, and I’ve ordered a shawl pattern from her to use it with. And, since I was buying the pattern, I had to look at the yarns, and ended up buying some of the new Lorna’s Laces striped sock yarn.
No sock of the day picture today, though, because I don’t seem to have a pic of the socks I’m actually wearing. One of those few things I haven’t gotten around to photographing.
My exchange gift is making its way to the post office today, so once the recipient actually receives it, I’ll post pictures of the things I made.
Now I’m off to enjoy the weather while I can.
