No More Counting Sheep For Me!
Well, I did it! I finished the Sheep Shawl last night while watching Angel. I love how the attached I-cord edging works. Tonight when I get home, I’ll be washing and blocking it, and will take some pictures. Right now, in it’s unblocked state, it goes from fingertip to fingertip, which is about 5.5 feet. I think it will stretch about another foot or so, width-wise, with blocking. I started this somewhere around January 20th, and finished it last night, so it took me about 2 months to get this one done. Much better than the six months it took me to do the Pacific Northwest Shawl.
My next shawl project, after I finish up a few outstanding projects, will be the Kilimanjaro Kat Shawl. I can’t wait to start on that one.
I’m thinking about leaving the office early today to catch a nap. I had one of those nights, and have already had more than my usual amount of caffeine, and I’m still drowsy.
At the band concert the other night, we found out that Klumpen made the All County Band. She’s one of only a handful of students from her school, so we’re really proud of her. Of course, there are only 3 french horn players in the whole school, so maybe that played a role in it. :)
My son, TSM, is such a flirt. At six and a half, he’s already got the women at daycare wrapped around his finger. When he was an infant, we went to the beach, and he nearly fell out of his stroller trying to smile at the girls walking by on the boardwalk. When he was a toddler, he would come home from daycare every day reeking of perfume from all the women hugging him. And the other day, he told his father that he “liked spring, because spring means flowers and flowers remind me of Mommy”. Is it any wonder I have a hard time saying no to this kid?
A friend and former co-worker called the other day to catch up, and I asked if he and his wife were ever going to have kids. He (only half-jokingly) told me that my stories of the kids and the stepson have scarred him for life and he’ll never have any. I have a feeling his wife may not share that idea, but only time will tell. I think they’d make great parents.
Otherwise, life goes on much as it has lately. Traffic still sucks. I still get peeved every time I see that “report terrorism” blurb on the traffic announcement boards. The forsythia is blooming and the magnolia trees aren’t far behind.
