So Much for Heightened Security

Not too much knitting got done yesterday, other than working on my exchange gift.  I have a ton of things I want to work on, but I need to focus, and finish up some of the things I’ve got in progress.  (I figure that if I keep saying it often enough, maybe it’ll actually happen.)

I’ve been buying some Jaeger yarn on ebay, and can’t wait to start something with it.  I’ve bought some Persia, Matchmaker DK and Extra Fine Merino DK.  I also got some Persia pattern books with the Persia yarn, and I’ve tagged a couple of the sweaters that I like.

As if the traffic wasn’t bad enough, Mr. Watson of North Carolina and his tractor made my morning hell.  It took me over 40 minutes just to get to I-95 from the house.  And then everything crawled because of one lunatic with a tractor in downtown DC.

At least the DC powers-that-be realized that trying to evacuate everyone from DC in the event of an emergency was never going to work.  If one guy in a tractor on Constitution Avenue can screw things up, what did they think was actually going to happen in a real emergency?

But, just to reassure the general public, they’ve given us the oh-so-handy Preparedness Guide, which I’m sure is the cure to all our ills.  Yeah, right.
