I’m glad it’s Monday so I can come to work to get some rest!

This weekend was just way too busy for my taste.  Friday wasn’t too bad, just the agonizing office party.  Then once I got home, TOH and Klumpen went off to do some shopping.  TSM and I watched tv while I worked on the last minute gift for my exchange friend.

On Saturday, Klumpen and I went to the mall (heaven help us) to get her hair cut and dyed, and do some shopping.  We hit the Lego store for TSM and I managed to pick up a few things she’d been eyeing as well.  I also got a blender/food processor for TOH’s birthday present.  After Klumpen was finished getting her hair done, we went to pick up K and then I dropped them off at a friend’s house for movies and pizza.  TOH & TSM went out and did some shopping, and I caught a nap.

Once the boys got home again, we had pizza and watched tv and then TOH, Klumpen & K all went back to the mall.  TOH says he got some great ideas on what to get Klumpen.

Sunday was supposed to be tree day.  We were going to go to Leesburg and pick out a tree to cut down, etc, but we never made it.  We all slept in way too late, and then TOH went to Best Buy and CompUSA to return/buy the wireless networking stuff for Klumpen’s computer.  I spent the time finishing the first last-minute gift I’d started for my exchange, and then starting another.

Once we finally all got ourselves together, we ended up getting a tree at one of the local lots instead.  TOH and the tree went home, while Klumpen, TSM & I went off to Target, Borders and Michael’s.  I found the mixer that TOH wanted, and picked up a few other little things here and there.  Taking two kids out in the holiday mess around the mall is somewhat insane, but we made it home intact.  TOH had put up the tree, but not started lighting it yet.

We went out for dinner to celebrate TOH’s birthday at the Olive Garden.  Way too much food, but it was really good.  I didn’t take my knitting with me as I usually would have, because I was just too tired to think of it.  After dinner, we came home to finish decorating the tree.  While the kids worked on that, I finished up the second last minute gift I’d started.

The only things I didn’t get done that I wanted were to sew the embellishments on my main exchange gift, and to bake TOH a birthday cake.  I’ve not made him one in the last three or so years, and he’s been waiting patiently for it.  So, I’ll get it done before the end of the year at least.
