Recap Two
Saturday’s Recap - Part 2
Where was I? Oh, yes, wandering the streets of NYC with my friends.
After our late lunch, we headed downtown towards the Empire State Building.Details are a little blurry (I was getting tired!), but between the restaurant and the ESB, we arranged to meet up with R, who was just getting back from her Reserve Duty, and would be meeting us in uniform. Before we got there, we went to Macy’s, for D & D to pick up gifts for people at home. It was a total zoo! The crowds were extra ridiculous, because of the holiday sales, etc. But, we finally found R, as well as the “perfect” bag as a gift for D’s daughter.
On the way out of Macy’s, we glanced briefly at the window displays of the Muppets, but the crowds were just too incredible.
So, on to the ESB. The line wasn’t too long to get in, and getting through security wasn’t too bad. It was no worse than ending up in a Disney World line, really. But the view from the observation deck is just breath-taking. Quite literally at some points, because of the ice cold wind blowing across it. I took some pictures, but I haven’t gotten around to uploading them on my Picturetrail site yet. Soon, though.
After the ESB, we decided to forego the trip down to Times Square due to fatigue. We were all getting pretty worn out by this time. So, K went to pick up her daughter, and R herded the rest of us to the train, and made sure we got on the right one to head back to K’s place.
Once there, we all settled in for some pizza and more knitting time. We did some more of the show and tell, and just enjoyed our “girl’s night”. I think we finally went to sleep around midnight or so.
