Recap One

Saturday’s Recap – Part 1

So, there we are in NYC, a bunch of white chicks staying in Harlem. :) On Saturday morning, we all went over to M’s for brunch. She had fresh bagels & lox, fresh baked muffins, orange juice, tea, and coffee all ready for us. We had some more show & tell of our knitting, and had a great morning, just talking and laughing a lot!

After brunch, D took K’s daughter home with her for the afternoon, while T had to catch a train for upstate NY to go home. K played taxi driver and D & D & M and I went to do some sight-seeing. We started off at St. John the Divine, which is just down the street from M’s place. It’s a beautiful Cathedral, and a peaceful way to start the day.

After that, we headed downtown, to Broadway, to meet back up with K at School Products. It’s an interesting store, and I ended up buying two small balls (about 6 ounces each) of pure cashmere. What sold me on them was the swatches that showed the texture and feel before and after washing. The after washing feel is just amazing.

After that, we split with M, and went on to the West Village. We wandered down a few streets, and stopped at McNulty’s Tea & Coffee. The smell was just tantalizing. I don’t drink coffee, but the aroma is heady. I had to step outside after a bit, because it got to be too much for me. By then, we were getting tired, and were ready for some lunch, so we stopped in at Hudson Corner Cafe for something to eat. The link is to a copy of the postcard they have available on your way in the door.
